Chris Lawrence

Chris Lawrence is a strong, sensitive and focused actor with a fantastic flair for comedy. He is currently appearing in the commercial Gas Guzzler, which can be found on the Greenpeace web site and has lead roles in two films in post-production.

His inspiration to become an actor arose from Strindberg, to be precise an early 90's National Theatre production of The Father he went to see whilst studying A Level Theatre Arts. The moment he left the theatre he knew he wanted to become an actor.

From a part time job stacking shelves in Sainsbury's to a full time job managing people stacking shelves, Chris suddenly found himself, after a conversation in a pub, based on the Isle of White working as a Blue Coat for Warner holidays. Frustrated at not being involved in the main shows he taught himself to juggle and fire eat soon becoming part of a first class entertainments team, who went on to receive 100% satisfaction on guest reports.

Next step for Chris was drama school. He was awarded a scholarship to attend a 3 year accredited course at ALRA. His numerous achievements whilst studying at ALRA included being the winner of The Stage Best Fight Scene 1998 and he also won a lead role starring with Ian Holm in an award winning radio commercial for meningitis awareness.

Film was clearly Chris's path. Just before graduation Chris won yet another lead role in The Balloon playing the psychotic punk thug Wayne Grumble and was personally congratulated on his performance by Derek Jacobi at the screening "He could be the third Mitchell Brother!"

Since then Chris has been working non-stop in various forms within the entertainment industry, from an open air tour of Shakespeare's Othello winning a best actor award for his role as Iago to appearing on The Warehouse for ITV in one of his popular touring comedy sketches, to performing his stand up show in a variety of venues across London, Herts, Beds and Bucks, but not forgetting his first love acting in films and on TV.
